NEW YORK (AP) — Greater than three dozen ladies have filed a lawsuit in New York in opposition to author and director James Toback, accusing him of sexual abuse.

The lawsuit, filed in state Supreme Courtroom in Manhattan on Monday, comes after New York state final month instituted a one-year window for folks to file lawsuits over sexual assault claims even when they happened a long time in the past, waiving statutes of limitations.

Accusations that Toback had engaged in sexual abuse going again years surfaced in late 2017, first reported by the Los Angeles Instances because the #MeToo motion gained consideration.
