Net Direct Tax Collections Rises 21.8% To Rs 9.57 Lakh Crore

Refunds amounting to Rs 1.50 lakh crore have been issued from April 2023 to October 9, 2023.

The online direct tax assortment elevated by 21.82 per cent to over Rs 9.57 lakh crore until October 9, helped by good influx from corporates and people, the Finance Ministry stated on Tuesday.

The online collections have reached 52.5 per cent of the full-year price range estimates (BE) of Rs 18.23 lakh crore.

The provisional figures of Direct Tax collections as much as October 9, 2023, proceed to register regular development, the assertion stated.

With regard to gross direct tax collections, the assertion stated, it stood at Rs 11.07 lakh crore, which is 17.95 per cent greater than the gross collections for the comparable interval of final yr.

To this point, as the expansion fee for Company Earnings Tax (CIT) and Private Earnings Tax (PIT) when it comes to gross income collections is worried, the expansion fee for CIT is 7.30 per cent whereas that for PIT is 29.53 per cent (PIT solely); 29.08 per cent (PIT together with STT).

After adjustment of refunds, the web development in CIT collections is 12.39 per cent and that in PIT collections is 32.51 per cent (PIT solely)/ 31.85 per cent (PIT together with STT).

The 2023-24 price range has pegged the direct tax assortment at a bit of over Rs 18.23 lakh crore, 9.75 per cent greater than Rs 16.61 lakh crore mopped up final fiscal.
