Former US Marine Trevor Reed is predicted to make a full restoration after being wounded in battle roughly two weeks in the past serving alongside Ukrainian forces combating Russia, a supply near Reed instructed CNN.
Reed is at the moment receiving medical care in Germany after being evacuated there by MediCare Hubs Kyiv, a German NGO, and FRIDA Ukraine, an Israeli NGO.
Reed first traveled to Ukraine on November 1 to combat the invading Russian forces, doing so strictly as a volunteer with no affiliation with the US authorities, the supply stated.
Reed instructed family and friends he was motivated to combat by seeing the depths of Russian oppression firsthand as a prisoner, the supply stated, including that Reed stated he was honored to serve alongside Ukrainian fighters.
After Reed’s unit efficiently pushed again in opposition to Russian forces and recaptured about 2 km of land close to Bahkmut, the supply stated, Reed was wounded together with others in his unit. Versus what US authorities sources instructed one other media outlet, Reed didn’t step on a land mine. He was injured by shrapnel.
He’s “recuperating shortly and hopes to be dwelling quickly,” the supply stated.
The supply says that Reed and his household hope the information media can respect their want for privateness as Reed recovers from his wound. He’ll inform his story when the time is true, the supply tells CNN.
